The Raspberry Pi Model 8B Board is equipped with a powerful CPU that utilizes the latest ARM Cortex-A72 architecture, commonly found in high-performance smartphones. This evolution has transformed the Raspberry Pi into a genuine PC. The operating clock has been upgraded from the previous 1.2GHz to a more robust 1.5GHz, providing a significant speed increase due to the updated architecture.
The on-board GPU of the Raspberry Pi 8B supports 4Kp@60 and includes new support for H.265 decoding, OpenGL ES 3.0, and more. The video output is facilitated by two micro HDMI ports with smaller connectors, and the Raspberry Pi 8B also supports dual screen output.
With a new SOC, the I/O speed of the Raspberry Pi 8B has been enhanced, and it now supports USB 3.0. This allows for faster and more convenient USB booting.
The Raspberry Pi 8B also features Gigabit Ethernet (wired LAN), which has been significantly sped up from the 300Mbps of the previous model to 1000Mbps. Additionally, the Bluetooth supported version has been upgraded to 5.0, effectively doubling the transfer speed of the Raspberry Pi 8B.
The power input connector of the Raspberry Pi 8B has been changed to USB Type C, which is more user-friendly than Micro USB and can supply a larger current reliably. The power requirement of the Raspberry Pi 8B is 5V 3.0A, which is higher than the previous model.
