The Waveshare Long-Wave IR Thermal Imaging Camera Module, Raspberry Pi IR Camera, 80×62 Pixels (Type C Port, Wide Angle) is an advanced thermal imaging device designed for seamless integration into various industrial and intelligent control applications. Utilizing a hybrid technology that combines microbolometer and thermopile pixels, this camera module features an 80x62 pixel array capable of detecting infrared distribution within its field of view. It processes this data to calculate the surface temperature of objects, subsequently generating thermal images.
This particular version of the camera module is equipped with a Type-C port and offers a wide-angle field of view, making it suitable for applications requiring broader coverage. The shutterless design ensures continuous operation and a thermal imaging video stream, with a maximum refresh rate of 25 frames per second. The camera's Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference (NETD) is rated at 150mK RMS at a 1Hz refresh rate, ensuring high precision in temperature detection.
The camera module is ideal for high-precision, long-term, non-contact temperature monitoring and can be employed in various settings, including smart homes, intelligent buildings, and industrial temperature control systems. It is also suitable for security and safety applications, such as intrusion and motion detection, as well as small target thermal analysis and heat trend analysis.
Note: Ensure proper handling and installation to avoid damage or inaccurate readings.
