The Waveshare Industrial 8-Ch Digital Input & Output Module, DC 7~36V Wide Voltage Power Supply, Modbus RTU Protocol is an advanced industrial-grade module designed for robust digital input and output operations. It features an RS485 control interface and supports both passive and active inputs, utilizing the Modbus RTU protocol. The module is equipped with multiple isolation protection circuits, including power and magnetic isolation, ensuring high reliability and strong anti-interference capabilities.
This module is capable of cascading multiple devices on an RS485 bus, with a configurable device address range from 1 to 255. It includes an onboard voltage regulator that supports a wide power supply range from 7 to 36 volts, providing stable isolated voltage without the need for an additional power supply for the isolated terminal. The module also incorporates a resettable fuse and a transient voltage suppressor to protect against surge and transient spike voltages, offering over-current and over-voltage protection.
The digital input and output are fully isolated, with bi-directional optocoupler isolation for enhanced safety and reliability. The output employs Darlington transistors with optocoupler isolation, providing a strong driving capability with up to 500mA sinking current per channel. The module supports various automation scenarios with multiple output control modes and features a rail-mount case design for easy installation and stacking.
