The Waveshare DDSM400 Direct Drive Servo Motor is an advanced motor solution designed for applications requiring a wide speed range and low noise operation. This all-in-one hub motor is particularly suitable for RC car robots and DIY projects. It employs cutting-edge direct drive technology, eliminating the need for a traditional reducer, and features a high-reliability Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) that integrates an outer rotor brushless motor, encoder, and servo.
The motor is characterized by its ultra-low noise and high precision, offering zero-backlash and fast response times. Its compact structure integrates both the motor and driver, ensuring high efficiency and seamless operation. The motor supports LIN bus communication, allowing for the retrieval of motor feedback information such as position, speed, current, and error codes.
Additional features include Hall position detection and over-current protection, as well as support for electric braking. The motor operates with no mechanical friction, achieving a drive efficiency close to 99%. It is designed to function within a temperature range of -5℃ to 40℃ and maintains a noise level of 40dB(A) or less.
