The Waveshare BG95 EVB Development Board for QuecPython, Supports LTE/EGPRS Communication & GNSS is a compact and portable development board designed to facilitate advanced communication and positioning capabilities. It integrates the BG95-M3 module, a multi-mode LPWA module that supports LTE Cat M1, LTE Cat NB2, and EGPRS, making it suitable for global applications. The board is compliant with 3GPP Rel-14 standards and offers impressive data rates, with a maximum of 588 kbps for downlink and 1119 kbps for uplink under LTE Cat M1.
This development board is engineered for ultra-low power consumption, featuring a built-in MCP and an ARM Cortex A7 processor that supports ThreadX. It includes a 40PIN GPIO header compatible with most Raspberry Pi HATs, enhancing its versatility. The board is equipped with five LEDs to indicate the module's operating status and a Type-C port for straightforward development using a USB Type-C cable.
The board supports a wide range of communication protocols, including PPP, TCP, UDP, SSL, TLS, FTP(S), HTTP(S), NITZ, PING, MQTT, LwM2M, CoAP, and IPv6. It also offers GNSS positioning capabilities, supporting GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, and QZSS. An onboard Nano SIM card slot is designed for easy insertion and removal, supporting 1.8V SIM cards. The board is complemented by tools such as QPYcom, Thonny IDE plugin, and VSCode plugin, along with online development resources and a manual for QuecPython.
