The Unitree R1 EDU Pro A (U3) Humanoid Robot, developed by Unitree Robotics, is a full-body bipedal humanoid platform designed for advanced manipulation research, education, and applied human-robot interaction development. Spanning a comprehensive range of actuated degrees of freedom across its legs, arms, waist, and dexterous hands, it enables coordinated whole-body task execution suited to scenarios requiring human-like kinematic reach and dexterity. As the U3 configuration within the R1 EDU Pro A line, this variant integrates the Dex3 dexterous hand system, distinguishing it from base configurations through enhanced upper-body manipulation capability. The platform targets research institutions, university laboratories, and development organizations seeking a programmable AI robotics platform with dexterous tooling suited to precision manipulation tasks.
Perception and autonomy are driven by a layered computing architecture that combines a high-performance multi-core processor with a dedicated AI accelerator, supporting real-time inference and dexterous control without off-board computation. The robot perceives its surroundings through a binocular stereo vision system and a multi-microphone spatial audio array, enabling both visual scene understanding and voice-based human interaction via an onboard speaker. Battery runtime is suited to standard laboratory sessions, and the quick-release smart battery design allows rapid swap-outs to minimize downtime between tasks. Developers benefit from a comprehensive software ecosystem covering high-level and low-level control interfaces, ROS 2 middleware support with simulation integration, and a broad set of development tools that make this autonomous robot well suited to AI embodiment research, academic robotics programs, and institutional humanoid robot deployment.

Hardware & Software Overview
Hardware platform, Dex3 hands, and developer tools of the Unitree R1 EDU Pro A (U3) Humanoid Robot.
Autonomous Facility Patrol
Its binocular depth camera module continuously scans the environment, making it effective for security rounds, anomaly detection, and access monitoring across warehouses, campuses, and commercial buildings. Dex3 dexterous hands allow it to physically interact with door handles, buttons, and controls during rounds.
Industrial Site Monitoring
Equipped with a binocular camera and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, the R1 can navigate industrial environments to monitor equipment, check gauges, and relay live visual data to a control center. Its 2 kg per-arm carry capacity allows it to transport inspection tools or light supplies between stations. 7-DOF Dex3 hands extend its capability to tool handling and simple equipment operation on site.
Reception and Customer Interaction
The R1's built-in 4-mic array, speaker, and multimodal voice and vision AI allow it to greet visitors, answer common questions, and guide people through a space. It is immediately deployable as a lobby greeter, retail floor assistant, or exhibition presence without any custom programming. Dex3 hands add natural gesturing and the ability to hand objects directly to visitors.
Education and Live Demonstrations
Standing 123 cm tall with 40 degrees of freedom, the R1 makes a compelling subject for classroom robotics education and live demonstrations at trade shows or corporate events. Natural bipedal movement and voice interaction bring humanoid robotics to life for any audience. With 40 total DOF including 7-DOF Dex3 hands, it demonstrates the full scope of humanoid dexterity.

If you are not satisfied with a product purchased from the Site, you may request a return within 30 days from the delivery date, unless the product is listed under the Return Exceptions below or is subject to specific return conditions noted on the product page.
This return policy also applies, as a minimum standard, to products sold and fulfilled by third-party vendors through the Marketplace.
Returns under this policy concern non-defective products. In the case of a confirmed manufacturing defect, remedies are handled under the Warranty terms, at the Vendor's discretion. See the Warranty section.
Return Conditions
To qualify for a refund under the 30-day return policy, all of the following conditions must be met:
A valid Return Authorization (RA) number must be obtained prior to returning the product. Returns without an RA number will be refused.
The RA number is valid for 30 days. The returned item must be received within that period.
The RA number must be included with the return.
Products must be returned in unused, unmodified condition (e.g., no scratches, alterations, missing parts, or signs of installation/use) and in their original packaging, suitable for resale.
Shipping fees are non-refundable. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, except in cases of a product confirmed defective through RobotShop's troubleshooting process or of a verified shipping error by RobotShop.
Refunds are processed within 7 days after receipt and inspection of the returned item.
A $100 cleaning fee may apply to domestic robots returned in used or unclean condition.
A 20% restocking fee may apply to large-quantity returns of items ordered specifically for the customer from the manufacturer or not part of RobotShop's standard inventory.
Return Exceptions
The following products are not eligible for return or refund under this policy:
Used, damaged, or modified products — Items that show signs of use, wear, or alteration, making them unsuitable for resale.
