The Tic T825 USB Multi-Interface Stepper Motor Controller facilitates the straightforward control of a stepper motor, offering a seamless configuration process via USB through dedicated software. This controller is equipped with a Texas Instruments DRV8825 driver and supports six distinct control interfaces, including USB, TTL serial, I²C, analog voltage, quadrature encoder, and hobby radio control. It operates within a voltage range of 8.5 V to 45 V and can deliver up to 1.5 A per phase without additional cooling, with a maximum of 2.5 A per phase achievable with sufficient cooling measures.
This versatile module is designed to integrate easily into various projects, providing open-loop speed or position control for a bipolar stepper motor. The controller's configuration utility, compatible with Windows, Linux, and macOS, simplifies the initial setup and allows for in-system testing and monitoring via USB. The Tic T825 supports selectable microstep modes up to 1/32-step resolution and offers digitally adjustable current limits, ensuring precise control over motor operations.
Additional features include optional safety controls, input calibration, and adjustable scaling for analog and RC signals. The controller also includes a 5 V regulator, optional limit switch inputs with homing capabilities, and STEP/DIR outputs for controlling external stepper motor drivers. An Arduino library is available to facilitate integration with Arduino or compatible boards. Headers and terminal blocks are included but require soldering for assembly.
