The SUMO:BIT Expansion Board for micro:bit is an innovative tool designed for enthusiasts interested in Sumo robot competitions. It offers a user-friendly experience for beginners and advanced users alike, allowing programming through the Microsoft MakeCode Editor. Beginners can utilize the block programming mode, while more experienced users can switch to JavaScript or Python for text-based programming.
This expansion board is co-processed by the Raspberry Pi RP2040 and features a detachable MD13S motor driver, which can be replaced effortlessly when necessary. It supports powerful motor drivers with a continuous current capacity of up to 13A and a peak current of 30A. The board allows for seamless mode interchangeability without the need for reprogramming.
Additionally, the SUMO:BIT includes a USB host for wireless USB joystick connectivity, enabling quick transitions between autonomous and remote-controlled modes. It also features onboard motor alignment adjustment and calibration, as well as a 4-way DIP switch offering 16 different strategic configurations for competitive advantage.
Note: This board is designed to be optimally used with the MD13S motor driver. Maximum ratings are based on the assumption that the SUMO:BIT is connected to the MD13S motor driver boards. Refer to the MD13S motor driver user manual for further information.
