The SparkFun Red Vision Kit for RedBoard facilitates advanced machine vision capabilities on the RP2350 RedBoard IoT platform. This kit is designed to be solder-free, making it accessible for users who wish to integrate machine vision into their projects without the need for extensive technical expertise. Central to the kit is a 2.0-inch capacitive touch display, which provides a user-friendly interface for interacting with the system. The display offers a resolution of 320x240 pixels, ensuring clear and detailed visual output.
Accompanying the display is the HM01B0 color camera, which is capable of capturing images at a resolution of 320x320 pixels. This camera is adept at instant object and contour detection, making it suitable for a variety of applications that require real-time image processing. The camera supports various frame rates, including up to 51 frames per second in full resolution and 60 frames per second in a windowed or QVGA mode. Additionally, it offers a monochrome binning mode that can achieve frame rates of up to 120 frames per second.
The kit's video data interface is versatile, supporting 1-, 4-, or 8-bit configurations with frame and line synchronization. It also includes an I2C interface operating at a maximum of 400 KHz, which facilitates communication between the camera and other components. The power requirements are efficiently managed with an analog supply voltage of 2.8V and a digital supply voltage of 1.5V, which is internally regulated. The kit also features a red power LED for status indication.
