The SparkFun GNSS Flex pHAT - mosaic-G5 P3 is an advanced peripheral designed to enhance the capabilities of a Raspberry Pi by providing survey-grade, millimeter-level RTK accuracy. This device integrates the GNSS Flex pHAT with the SparkPNT mosaic-G5 P3 Module, which features the Septentrio mosaic-G5 receiver. It is particularly suitable for applications in surveying, robotics, and various IoT projects where constraints on size, weight, and power consumption are critical.
The module is equipped with a standard 40-pin GPIO header for seamless connectivity with Raspberry Pi devices. It also includes a dedicated USB-C port for high-speed data access and a microSD card slot for efficient data logging. The Septentrio mosaic-G5 receiver offers exceptional accuracy, with 6mm horizontal and 1cm vertical precision when utilizing RTK technology. Additionally, it provides a PPS timing resolution of 1.4ns and event-trigger accuracy of less than 3ns, ensuring precise timing and synchronization.
The device is capable of tracking signals from multiple global navigation satellite systems, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS. It supports various data formats such as NMEA, RTCM v3.x, and Septentrio Binary Format (SBF), and offers multiple interfaces including UARTs, GPIO pins, PPS outputs, and event inputs. The module is designed with U.FL and SMA connectors to accommodate external antennas, enhancing its versatility and performance.
