Offers zero reset feature for precision
Enhances efficiency with easy installation

Upgrades older machines with new bearings
The Sherline Zero Adjustable Handwheel 2.5" X/Z Axis (Metric) offers machinists the ability to reset the handwheel to zero or any desired setting during machining operations. This feature, typically found in full-size machine tools, is now available for Sherline's miniature machine tools. The handwheel is easily installed by releasing a single set screw, and its operation is straightforward. By releasing the black locking nut and adjusting the red handwheel collar to zero, users can precisely control the feed amount without complex calculations, enhancing efficiency and reducing errors.
This 2.5-inch handwheel is specifically designed for the Z-axis of the mill or vertical milling column. It includes a ball thrust bearing set to alleviate stress from the vertical lifting action, a feature not present in other horizontal axes. This makes it suitable for newer machines, while older models can be upgraded to incorporate this advanced bearing set.
The handwheel's engraved numbers are oriented for optimal readability depending on the axis of installation. However, it is important to note that the larger 2.5-inch handwheels are not recommended for simultaneous use on both the lathe leadscrew and tailstock due to potential interference, although they can be used elsewhere. Both inch and metric versions are available to accommodate different measurement preferences.
