The Sherline Flanged Cartridge Spindle ER-16 is a precision-engineered component designed for high-performance machining applications. It features an ER-16 spindle nose thread and taper, which is ideal for accommodating a variety of collet sizes, enhancing its versatility in different machining tasks. The spindle is equipped with two 20 mm, class 5 ball bearings that are lifetime lubricated and come with an adjustable preload, ensuring smooth and reliable operation over extended periods.
This spindle is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 10,000 RPM, although it is recommended to maintain a continuous speed of 4,000 RPM or less for optimal performance and longevity. The mounting provision includes three holes positioned at 120-degree increments, designed to accommodate 10-32 x 5/8 inch socket head cap screws, which are supplied with the product. This facilitates secure and stable installation in various setups.
The spindle assembly includes essential components such as a preload nut, bearing dust cover washer, and a flanged cartridge spindle body, all contributing to its robust construction and efficient functionality. The inclusion of a 2-step V-belt pulley and a 30-T timing belt pulley further enhances its adaptability to different drive systems, making it a versatile choice for precision machining tasks.
