The Sherline CNC-Ready 6-Direction 2-Axis Machine Slide 6576 (Metric) is a precision-engineered tool designed for advanced machining applications. Constructed primarily from 6061-T6 aluminum, it features a durable black anodized finish. The slide incorporates steel components with ground dovetails, ensuring stability and precision in operation. The machine slide is equipped with a metric leadscrew, offering precise control over movements. The leadscrews are precision rolled from steel, and the backlash is adjustable to maintain accuracy over time. The dovetailed tables and saddles are fitted with adjustable gibs to eliminate play, enhancing the precision of the X- and Z-axis movements, which are controlled by handwheels. These industrial handwheels are graduated in 0.01 mm increments, allowing for meticulous adjustments. The machine slide also includes manual ram control for column rotation, pivot, swing, and in/out travel, providing versatile machining capabilities. It is designed to accommodate NEMA 23 stepper motors, making it CNC-ready. The slide offers flexible mounting options, with provisions for securing it from both the bottom and the top, ensuring a secure and stable setup. The weight capacity of the slide is approximately 10 lbs, depending on the distribution and location of the weight. Under heavy use, the slide is expected to maintain its functionality for a duty cycle of 2080 hours, although the anodized coating may begin to show wear. Regular lubrication with light oil is recommended to extend the lifespan of the dovetail and screw components. Note: Do not use WD40 as a lubricant on these slides, as it will remove the anodized coating.
