Description
- Sherline CNC Linear Controller Z-Axis for 2010 Mill
- Controls motor without a computer
- Connects via 8-pin mini-DIN cable
- Handles up to 40 operations per program
- Ensures smooth, uniform finish
- Minimizes manual operation errors
The Sherline CNC Linear Controller Z-Axis for 2010 Mill is a sophisticated stand-alone device designed to control the stepper motor's function with precision and ease. This controller is programmable directly from its keypad, allowing users to manage the motor's operations without the need for a computer or master CNC controller. It can be connected to multiple units using an 8-pin mini-DIN cable, enabling them to work in sequence and perform complex movements efficiently. Additionally, it can be integrated with existing CNC controllers for enhanced functionality.
The controller offers user-programmable capabilities with two separate programs, each capable of handling up to 40 operations. Within each program block, users can control various parameters such as distance, direction, speed, and whether the program pauses or continues to the next block. This flexibility allows for the execution of intricate tasks, such as gear cutting, without requiring extensive knowledge of CNC programming. The device can also be "daisy-chained" with Sherline's rotary controller to achieve a combination of rotary and linear movements, further expanding its application potential.
Utilizing a power feed with this controller provides several advantages, including a consistent feed rate that results in a smoother and more uniform finish. It also minimizes errors associated with manual handwheel operation and eliminates the physical effort required for lengthy cuts or returning the saddle to its starting position. Programming the controller is straightforward, and once set, programs can be repeated with high accuracy at the touch of a button.
