The Sherline CNC Cam Grinder is an advanced tool designed to facilitate the precise crafting of camshafts, particularly for model engines. This machine leverages computer numerical control (CNC) technology, allowing users to input measurements from cam drawings into a specialized Sherline software program. The software then generates the necessary g-code to operate the CNC stepper motors, which control the cam's rotation and the shape of its lobes. This capability extends beyond model engines, as the grinder can also be employed for small cams in various prototype applications.
Designed with the home shop machinist in mind, the Sherline CNC Cam Grinder assumes a foundational understanding of g-code, CNC operations, and machine alignment. Although the machine is pre-aligned at the factory, it is crucial for operators to verify and ensure proper alignment before use, as shipping may affect its precision. This grinder is ideal for individuals crafting cams for personal use, those producing cams for commercial purposes, or clubs seeking a shared resource to benefit from modern CNC technology. It significantly reduces the time and effort required to produce accurate and well-formed cams compared to traditional manual methods.
The grinder is constructed with the robust engineering quality synonymous with Sherline machine tools. It features a powerful grinder motor and three DC stepper motors equipped with manual control handwheels. The machine is designed to protect its components from water and grinding debris, ensuring longevity and reliability. It can accommodate cam blanks of considerable length and includes a range of accessories to support its operation. The machine's components are finished with a durable anodized coating, and it includes a built-in diamond wheel dresser for maintaining the grinding wheel's condition. The Sherline CNC Cam Grinder is available with or without a computer and drivers, offering flexibility to suit various user needs.
If you are not satisfied with a product purchased from the Site, you may request a return within 30 days from the delivery date, unless the product is listed under the Return Exceptions below or is subject to specific return conditions noted on the product page.
This return policy also applies, as a minimum standard, to products sold and fulfilled by third-party vendors through the Marketplace.

The RA number is valid for 30 days. The returned item must be received within that period.
The RA number must be included with the return.
Products must be returned in unused, unmodified condition (e.g., no scratches, alterations, missing parts, or signs of installation/use) and in their original packaging, suitable for resale.
Shipping fees are non-refundable. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer, except in cases of a product confirmed defective through RobotShop's troubleshooting process or of a verified shipping error by RobotShop.
Refunds are processed within 7 days after receipt and inspection of the returned item.
A $100 cleaning fee may apply to domestic robots returned in used or unclean condition.
A 20% restocking fee may apply to large-quantity returns of items ordered specifically for the customer from the manufacturer or not part of RobotShop's standard inventory.
Return Exceptions
