The Sherline 14-Inch 8-Direction Benchtop Mill XY Base (Metric) is a precision-engineered component designed for use in advanced milling applications. This base is integral to the 2000-series benchtop mill, offering a robust foundation for precise machining tasks. It features zero adjustable handwheels, which are complemented by laser-engraved scales on both the table and base, ensuring accurate measurements and adjustments during operation.
The mill base measures 14 inches, while the mill table extends to 13 inches, providing ample space for various milling projects. The handwheels, which are resettable and zero adjustable, are equipped with laser-engraved aluminum collars, enhancing the precision and ease of use. An oil reservoir is incorporated into the X/Y axes, facilitating smooth and efficient movement, which is crucial for maintaining the longevity and performance of the mill.
The travel capacity of the mill is substantial, with the X-axis offering a range of 8.65 inches (220 mm) and the Y-axis providing 7.0 inches (178 mm). This range allows for a wide variety of milling operations, accommodating different project requirements. Additionally, there are optional upgrades available for the Y-axis leadscrew cover, including a brass tube cover for the rear and an accordion way cover for both the front and rear.
