The Sherline 12-Inch Deluxe Tabletop Mill XY Base (Inch) is a precision-engineered component designed for use in the 5400-series tabletop mill. This base features zero adjustable handwheels, which are complemented by laser-engraved scales on both the table and base, ensuring precise measurements and adjustments. The mill base measures 12 inches, while the mill table extends to 13 inches, providing ample space for various milling tasks.
The handwheels on the X- and Y-axes are resettable and zero adjustable, each equipped with laser-engraved aluminum collars for enhanced accuracy and ease of use. An integrated oil reservoir on the X/Y axes ensures smooth operation and longevity of the components by providing consistent lubrication.
The travel capacity of the mill base is substantial, with the X-axis offering a range of 8.65 inches (220 mm) and the Y-axis providing 5.0 inches (127 mm) of movement. This range allows for versatile application in a variety of milling projects.
For those seeking additional protection and durability, optional Y-axis leadscrew cover upgrades are available. These include a brass tube cover for the rear of the Y-axis and an accordion way cover for both the front and rear of the Y-axis, offering enhanced protection against debris and wear.
