The Sherline 10″ Tabletop Mill XY Base DRO (Metric) is a precision-engineered component designed for use with digital readout systems, providing enhanced accuracy and ease of use for milling operations. This base is a part of the 5000-series DRO tabletop mills and is equipped with DRO handwheels, encoders, and sensors, which facilitate seamless integration with a digital readout box, although the box itself is not included.

The mill features a robust 10-inch base and a 13-inch table, ensuring stability and ample working space for various milling tasks. The DRO handwheels, measuring 2 inches (51mm), are installed on the Y-axis leadscrew and the X-axis table feed screw. These handwheels are designed for precision, featuring laser-engraved aluminum collars and the capability to reset to zero electronically via the DRO display box, enhancing operational efficiency.

An oil reservoir is incorporated into the X/Y axes, promoting smooth movement and reducing wear over time. The mill offers a travel range of 8.65 inches (220 mm) on the X-axis and 3.0 inches (76 mm) on the Y-axis, providing flexibility for a variety of milling applications.

For users seeking additional protection and durability, optional upgrades are available for the Y-axis leadscrew cover. These include a brass tube cover for the rear of the Y-axis and an accordion way cover for both the front and rear of the Y-axis. It is important to note that the Mill Column Base (P/N 50050) must be purchased separately to accommodate the brass tube cover.
