The Sherline 1-5/8″ Handwheel w/ 11″ Leadscrew Assembly (Metric) is an efficient solution for moving small slides or objects over a controlled distance. This assembly includes a handwheel paired with an 11-inch leadscrew, a thrust collar, and a brass nut, providing a comprehensive mechanism for precise adjustments. The brass nut can be securely fastened into a predrilled hole in the component to be moved, ensuring stability and ease of replacement when worn. Alternatively, the leadscrew can be directly inserted into a tapped hole in the component, though using the brass nut is more cost-effective for maintenance purposes.
The assembly is designed with a backlash nut and lock, allowing for the control of backlash on the leadscrew, enhancing precision in movement. The metric version of the leadscrew features a 6.3 x 1 mm thread pitch, with the handwheel offering 100 graduations, each representing 0.01 mm. This ensures that each rotation of the handwheel results in a 1 mm movement of the leadscrew, facilitating accurate and repeatable positioning.
A hex key is provided for the secure tightening of the set screw, and the thrust collar is easily attached to the fixed portion of the design with a single screw, which is included in the package. This assembly is ideal for applications requiring meticulous control and adjustment, making it a valuable addition to any precision engineering project.
