The ServoCity 6A BEC / Voltage Regulator (6-24V Input, 5V, 6V, 8.4V, 12V Output, XT30 Connectors) is a versatile component designed to reduce input voltage to one of four selectable output voltages. It is highly compatible with the goBILDA® ecosystem, featuring a 32mm square pattern with thru-holes for secure mounting. This device, commonly referred to as a Battery Eliminator Circuit (BEC) in the R/C hobbyist community, eliminates the need for additional batteries by providing the necessary voltage for various components. Known as a switching regulator or buck converter in electrical engineering, it efficiently steps down voltage from its input. The BEC accepts input via XT30 connectors and allows for easy adjustment of output voltage through a side-mounted jumper, with a default setting of 5V. It can be adjusted to 6V, 8.4V, or 12V, provided the input voltage is at least 1V higher than the desired output. Note: To prevent damage, ensure the total current draw does not exceed 6A, and be cautious of motor stall currents, such as the 9.2A stall current of Yellow Jacket Planetary Gear Motors, which are incompatible with this BEC.
