The Seeedstudio Grove Thermal Imaging Camera / IR Array MLX90640 110 Degree is a thermal sensor equipped with an MLX90640 IR Array. This camera is capable of displaying dynamic thermal images and accurately detecting the surrounding temperature within a range of -40 to 300 ℃.
The camera's wide-angle lens provides a field of view (FOV) of 110° x 75°. With a 32x24 array of thermal sensors (MLX90640), the camera can detect the temperature of objects from a distance with an accuracy of ±1.5 ℃. The camera utilizes the I2C protocol to obtain low-resolution images.
The module connects to the microcontroller unit (MCU) via the I2C interface. However, it requires an MCU with over 20000 bytes of RAM to operate the camera effectively. This thermal imaging sensor is compatible with numerous Arduino boards and Seeeduino boards assembled with SAMD21/SAMD51, such as the Seeeduino Lotus Cortex - M0. It also supports all series of Raspberry Pi, including the Raspberry Pi Zero.
Please note that an MCU with over 20000 bytes of RAM is necessary to drive the camera.
