The Pololu Zumo 2040 Front Sensor Array is an integral component of the Zumo 2040 Robot Kit, also included in assembled versions of the Zumo 2040 Robots. Primarily intended as a replacement part, this sensor array can also be utilized to construct a custom Zumo 2040 robot with select components from the full kit. It features five downward-facing reflectance sensors for line-following or edge-detection, along with front- and side-facing detectors that, in conjunction with IR emitters on the Zumo 2040 main board, establish a comprehensive proximity sensor system. The package includes a 2×12 extended male header for the sensor array, two 1×3 right-angle male headers, two shorting blocks, and both wide-angle and narrow-angle through-hole infrared LEDs, which function as forward emitters for the proximity sensor detectors.
