The Pololu 9V, 300mA Step-Down Voltage Regulator D24V3F9 efficiently converts higher input voltages up to 42 V to a stable 9 V output. This switching regulator, also known as a DC-to-DC converter, offers an efficiency range of 80% to 90%, making it superior to linear regulators, particularly when there is a significant difference between input and output voltages.
The regulator features short-circuit protection and thermal shutdown to prevent overheating. It operates at a 1.25 MHz switching frequency and has a typical no-load quiescent current of 2 mA. The device lacks reverse-voltage protection.
