The Pololu 9.7:1 Metal Gearmotor 25Dx63L mm MP 12V w/ 48 CPR Encoder is a medium-power, 12-volt brushed DC motor integrated with a 9.68:1 metal spur gearbox. It features a 48 CPR quadrature encoder on the motor shaft, providing 464.64 counts per revolution of the gearbox's output shaft. The gearmotor is cylindrical with a diameter of just under 25 mm, and it includes a D-shaped output shaft that extends 12.5 mm from the gearbox face plate.
This gearmotor is part of a versatile series available in various gear ratios and motor power levels, all sharing a 25 mm diameter case and a 4 mm diameter gearbox output shaft. The motor and encoder can be purchased separately, and versions without the encoder are also available. The encoder utilizes a two-channel Hall effect sensor to detect the rotation of a magnetic disk on the motor shaft, offering a resolution of 48 counts per revolution.
The gearmotor's face plate includes two mounting holes for M3 screws, compatible with custom-designed mounting brackets. The 4 mm diameter output shaft is suitable for use with Pololu multi-hub wheels and various mounting hubs, allowing for the attachment of larger wheels or custom mechanisms. A range of motor controllers and drivers are available to complement this gearmotor, including options for higher-level control interfaces such as USB, RC, and I²C. Additionally, current sensors are available for monitoring motor current.
