The Pololu 75:1 Metal Gearmotor 25Dx69L mm MP 12V w/ 48 CPR Encoder is a sophisticated component designed for precision motion control applications. This gearmotor integrates a medium-power, 12 V brushed DC motor with a 74.83:1 metal spur gearbox, complemented by a 48 CPR quadrature encoder. The encoder provides an impressive 3591.84 counts per revolution of the gearbox’s output shaft, ensuring high-resolution feedback for precise control.
The gearmotor features a cylindrical design with a diameter of just under 25 mm, and a D-shaped output shaft measuring 4 mm in diameter, extending 12.5 mm from the gearbox's face plate. This design facilitates compatibility with various mounting options and accessories, such as Pololu multi-hub wheels and universal aluminum mounting hubs, allowing for versatile integration into diverse mechanical systems.
The encoder utilizes a two-channel Hall effect sensor to detect the rotation of a magnetic disk on the motor shaft, providing square wave outputs that indicate both speed and direction. The motor and encoder assembly is equipped with six color-coded leads terminated by a 1×6 female header, compatible with standard 0.1" male headers.
This gearmotor is suitable for applications requiring precise speed and position control, and it can be easily mounted using M3 screws. It is compatible with a range of motor drivers and controllers, offering flexibility in control interfaces, including USB, RC, and TTL serial options. Note: Ensure the input voltage for the Hall sensor is between 3.5 and 20 V to avoid damage.
