Integrates a full 9-axis inertial measurement unit
The Pololu 3pi+ 32U4 OLED Robot - Hyper Edition (15:1 HPCB Motors), Assembled is a sophisticated mobile platform designed for advanced users, featuring an Arduino-compatible ATmega32U4 microcontroller. This compact robot, measuring just 9.7 cm in diameter, integrates a range of advanced components including dual quadrature encoders for precise motor control, a full inertial measurement unit, and a graphical OLED display. The Hyper Edition is equipped with high-speed 15:1 HPCB 6V Micro Metal Gearmotors, making it exceptionally fast and challenging to control.
The robot's microcontroller is preloaded with an Arduino-compatible bootloader, facilitating programming through a USB connection. Users can access the robot's power rails and I/O lines via expansion ports, allowing for customization and enhancement with additional peripherals. The 3pi+ 32U4 OLED is equipped with two H-bridge motor drivers and a variety of sensors, including five reflectance sensors for line-following and edge-detection, and front bump sensors for collision detection.
A unique power system ensures the motors operate at a constant 8 V, independent of battery charge levels, maintaining consistent speed. The robot also features three on-board pushbuttons for user interaction, a buzzer, and indicator LEDs for feedback. The bottom-loading battery holders provide easy access to batteries, even when additional levels are added to the robot.
Note: This edition is recommended for advanced users due to its high speed and difficulty in control, with a strong recommendation to keep motor speeds below 50% to prevent damage from impacts.
