The Pololu 250:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor MP 6V w/ 12 CPR Encoder, Back Connector is a compact brushed DC motor equipped with a robust metal gearbox. It features a gearbox cross section measuring 10×12 mm and a D-shaped output shaft with a diameter of 3 mm and a length of 9 mm. This gearmotor is designed to deliver precise motion control, making it suitable for a variety of applications requiring compact and efficient power transmission.
Integrated within the motor is a two-channel incremental Hall effect encoder, which detects the rotation of a magnetic disk located on the rear extension of the motor shaft. This quadrature encoder provides a resolution of 12 counts per revolution, enhancing the motor's ability to deliver accurate feedback on its rotational position. The encoder is equipped with a 6-pin JST SH-style male connector, compatible with corresponding cables and connector boards, facilitating easy integration into electronic systems.
The motor operates at a medium power level with a voltage of 6V and is fitted with precious metal brushes, ensuring reliable performance. The gearbox, constructed with brass plates, offers a gear ratio of approximately 248.98:1, enabling the motor to achieve a no-load speed of 88 RPM while drawing a current of 70 mA. Under stall conditions, the motor can exert a torque of 2 kg⋅cm, with a current draw of 0.67 A.
