The Pololu 210:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor LP 6V w/ 12 CPR Encoder, Back Connector is a compact brushed DC motor featuring a robust metal gearbox with a cross section of 10×12 mm. It is equipped with a 9 mm long, 3 mm diameter D-shaped output shaft. This gearmotor integrates a two-channel incremental Hall effect encoder, which detects the rotation of a magnetic disk on the motor shaft's rear protrusion. The encoder provides a resolution of 12 counts per revolution (CPR) of the motor shaft, which can be multiplied by the gearbox reduction factor to determine the counts per revolution of the gearbox output shaft.
The encoder is connected via a 6-pin JST SH-style male connector, compatible with corresponding cables and connector boards. The back connector orientation is parallel to the motor, ensuring streamlined integration into various applications. The motor terminals are accessible through designated pins, allowing for flexible operation by alternating the polarity of the power supply. The sensors are powered through specific pins, with the quadrature outputs delivering digital signals that indicate motor direction and speed.
This gearmotor is designed for low-power applications, operating at 6V with precious metal brushes. It achieves a gear ratio of 210.59:1, providing a no-load performance of 65 RPM at 40 mA. The motor's stall torque is extrapolated to 1.6 kg⋅cm (22 oz⋅in) at 0.36 A, making it suitable for precise and controlled movements in compact spaces.
