The Pololu 20.4:1 Metal Gearmotor 25Dx65L mm LP 12V w/ 48 CPR Encoder is a sophisticated component designed for precision motion control applications. It integrates a low-power, 12 V brushed DC motor with a 20.4:1 metal spur gearbox, complemented by a 48 CPR quadrature encoder. This encoder provides a high resolution of 979.62 counts per revolution of the gearbox’s output shaft, ensuring accurate feedback for precise control.
The gearmotor features a cylindrical design with a diameter slightly under 25 mm, and a D-shaped output shaft measuring 4 mm in diameter, extending 12.5 mm from the gearbox face plate. The encoder utilizes a two-channel Hall effect sensor to detect the rotation of a magnetic disk, offering square wave outputs that indicate both speed and direction of the motor.
This gearmotor is compatible with various mounting solutions, including custom-designed brackets and multi-hub wheels, allowing for versatile integration into different projects. It can be paired with Pololu's motor controllers and drivers, such as the TB9051FTG-based drivers for LP and MP versions, or the VNH5019-based drivers for HP versions, to achieve optimal performance.
