The Pololu 20.4:1 Metal Gearmotor 25Dx65L mm HP 6V w/ 48 CPR Encoder is a high-performance brushed DC motor integrated with a 20.4:1 metal spur gearbox. It features a 48 CPR quadrature encoder on the motor shaft, delivering 979.62 counts per revolution of the gearbox's output shaft. The gearmotor is cylindrical with a diameter of just under 25 mm, and its D-shaped output shaft measures 4 mm in diameter, extending 12.5 mm from the gearbox face plate.
This gearmotor is designed for versatility, with a consistent 25 mm diameter case and 4 mm diameter gearbox output shaft across various models, facilitating easy interchangeability to meet different design requirements. The motor and encoder can be purchased separately, and versions without the encoder are also available. The encoder utilizes a two-channel Hall effect sensor to detect the rotation of a magnetic disk on the motor shaft, providing precise feedback on speed and direction.
The gearmotor's output shaft is compatible with Pololu multi-hub wheels and universal aluminum mounting hubs, allowing for the attachment of larger wheels or custom mechanisms. Additionally, it can be mounted using custom-designed brackets with M3 screws. For control, a range of motor drivers and controllers are available, including options for higher-level interfaces such as USB, RC, and I²C.
