The Pololu 150:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor MP 6V w/ 12 CPR Encoder, Side Connector is a compact brushed DC motor featuring a robust metal gearbox with a cross section of 10×12 mm. It is equipped with a 9 mm long, 3 mm diameter D-shaped output shaft. This gearmotor integrates a two-channel incremental Hall effect encoder, which detects the rotation of a magnetic disk on the motor shaft's rear protrusion. The encoder provides a resolution of 12 counts per revolution (CPR) of the motor shaft, which can be multiplied by the gearbox reduction factor to determine the counts per revolution of the gearbox output shaft.

The encoder is connected via a 6-pin JST SH-style male connector, compatible with corresponding cables and connector boards. The side connector orientation is perpendicular to the motor. The motor terminals are accessible through red and black wires when used with appropriate JST cables, allowing for bidirectional operation by alternating the polarity of the power supply. The sensors are powered through designated pins, with the quadrature outputs providing digital signals that indicate motor direction and speed.

This medium-power 6V motor is designed with precious metal brushes and a 150.58:1 gearbox with brass plates, offering a no-load performance of 150 RPM at 70 mA. It is capable of a stall torque of 1.3 kg⋅cm (18 oz⋅in) at 0.67 A. Note: A cable is not included with this gearmotor.
