The Pololu 10:1 Micro Metal Gearmotor HPCB 12V w/ 12 CPR Encoder, Side Connector is a compact brushed DC motor equipped with a metal gearbox and an integrated encoder. The gearbox features a cross section of 10×12 mm and a D-shaped output shaft. This motor is designed to provide precise control over rotational movements, making it suitable for applications requiring accurate positioning and speed regulation.
The integrated two-channel incremental Hall effect encoder senses the rotation of a magnetic disk attached to the motor shaft. This encoder offers a resolution of 12 counts per revolution (CPR) of the motor shaft, which can be adjusted by the gearbox reduction factor to achieve the desired output resolution. The encoder is connected via a 6-pin JST SH-style male connector, compatible with corresponding cables and connector boards.
The motor terminals are accessible through designated pins, allowing for flexible operation by alternating the polarity of the power supply. The sensors are powered through specific pins, with the quadrature outputs providing digital signals that indicate motor direction and speed. The encoder's design includes built-in hysteresis to prevent erroneous signals, ensuring reliable performance even near transition points.
