The MyYard Nature White LDPE Sheets 12 x 8 inch 0.06 inch Thickness (10x) are designed for use with the MY YARD desktop vacuum former. These sheets are crafted from low-density polyethylene (LDPE), a material known for its lightweight, flexible, and robust properties, making it ideal for a variety of fine forming applications.
These LDPE sheets are particularly effective for vacuum forming over concrete or plaster items and are also suitable for creating resin casting molds. They excel in capturing fine details of objects, offering results comparable to silicone molds. However, unlike silicone, LDPE does not adhere to resin (epoxy) objects, providing a non-stick surface that enhances usability.
LDPE molds offer superior durability compared to silicone molds, which typically last for about 20 uses. In contrast, LDPE molds can be reused hundreds of times, potentially serving as permanent molds, making them a cost-effective and long-lasting alternative. The material does not require pre-heating and performs optimally at a forming temperature range of 239 - 248 ˚F, with an application temperature range of -40 to 194 ˚F. Additionally, these sheets are food safe, broadening their range of applications.
