The TTS Rugged Coding Robot Set w/ Coral Reef Mat is programmable robot specifically designed for outdoor use. It was awarded the BETT 2020 award for the best digital device and can be used in Forest Schools.

Equipped with Bluetooth functionality, the Rugged Robot can be controlled using a tablet or the TTS TacTile Code Reader. It is designed to handle robust challenges and has a memory capacity of up to 256 steps. This allows the robot to carry out even the most complex activities. Students can also adjust the robot's speed with three different settings. Additionally, the Robot features an obstacle sensor that can be turned on and off. This sensor helps students prepare for more advanced programming by detecting obstacles in front of the robot. When an obstacle is detected, the robot will reverse and rotate 45 degrees before continuing with the rest of the program.

The Rugged Robot Coral Reef Mat has a size of 120 x 120 cm that allows students to take the Rugged Robot for a swim in a coral reef. This mat offers excellent cross-curricular links, as it includes various coral fish, examples of coral bleaching, and a broken ship mast that connects to the Treasure Island mat.
