The Lynxmotion Hunter VTail 500 Drone Kit (Hardware Only) is a high performance quadcopter. Unlike other 'x' (where the front of the UAV is facing between two legs) or '+' (where the front is facing one of the legs) quadcopters and Y-shaped tricopters, the VTail concept uses two angled rear propellers, merging both concepts.
Many tricopter designs use a servo to angle the rear propeller to rotate the aircraft clockwise / counter-clockwise, and have an issue with asymmetry (only two propellers can counter-rotate while the third causes a bit of rotation). A 6-rotor tricopter solves the symmetry issue, but is more expensive as it requires three additional motors and ESCs.
The Mechanics The frame uses G10 fiberglass composite which is incredibly rigid and lightweight and offers significant price advantages over carbon fibre. The hardware is entirely metal, using lightweight aluminium standoffs, steel screws and lock nuts.
The VTail 500 is larger than the VTail 400. The "400" refers to the diameter of the circle which passes through all four motors and is commonly used as a size reference for multi-rotor UAVs.
Note: Optional VTail 500 White Canopy sold as a separate accessory.
Note: Optional UAV & Drone V-Tailssold as a separate accessory in the VTail category. Multiple colors available.
Le kit de cadre est très bien fait et s'assemble vraiment bien!

Great Product
Very well designed, maneuvers great.. Just A Tad bit awkward to assemble and instructions could be better but some common sense gets it done. Really Great build all in all!

great for acro flying
This is a really active flyer and very fun to fly. For a firstimer it is really daunting and crashes will happen. I would like to have a solution for the tail wobble and maybe metric screws since some standoff kits in robotshop are metric.

Good quality, but not for beginner
Not easy setup if you are newbie in building quadcopter. But after that you will enjoy it.

GREAT EYE-CATCHING AIRFRAME
Good looking airframe, The finish on all parts is first rate. Assembly a little bit tricky. Would recommend putting the frame together with fasteners only finger-tight. Once assembled, a bit of BLUE THREAD-LOCKER and tightening up the fasteners makes for a sturdy build. Milled logo on the top part of the frame is just aching to be filled in with a spot of bright paint.
