The Lynxmotion Heavy Duty Metal Arm Base (no servo) provides the ultimate in strength and rigidity. It is made from 0.093'' thick aluminum with a black anodized finish. The base can be mounted on plywood as a base for an arm, or onto other SES parts for custom builds. The compact size increases the versitility of this assembly. This kit does not include servos.
I used this to replace the bottom mount on a mechanical arm. The standard configuration had the whole arm mounted to a servo spindle. The arm rocked enough while turning the servo broke somehow and stopped working. This item supports great weight due to its bearing and support surrounding the servo. Highly recommended for supporting robotic arms and all objects that turn.
I use that metal kit for servo as a steering mechanisim of my 4 wheels drive robot vehicle. That kit is the center joint between the 2 sections of the vehicle. It increase the attachement to the servo and il will protect the top servo gear where we attached the metal kit. And again , delivered fast with an usual great service from RobotShop people.

Cela augmente l’attachement au servo et il protégera l’engrenage supérieur du servo auquel nous avons fixé le kit métallique. Et encore une fois, livré rapidement avec un excellent service habituel de la part des gens de RobotShop.
Je l'ai utilisé pour remplacer le montage inférieur sur un bras mécanique. Dans la configuration standard, le bras entier était monté sur un servo-axe. Le bras se balança suffisamment pendant que le servo tournait brisé et cessa de fonctionner. Cet article supporte beaucoup de poids en raison de son roulement et du support entourant le servo. Fortement recommandé pour supporter les bras robotiques et tous les objets qui tournent.
