The Lynxmotion Crazy2Fly Drone Kit (Hardware Only)is a smaller, high performance quadcopter frame. The Crazy2Fly can be flown in either '+' or 'x' configurations. The Crazy2Fly is smaller than the VTail and considerably easier to understand and fly.
Don't let its simplicity and low cost fool you though - the Crazy2Fly lives by its name, and is capable of high speed aerial acrobatics and is a thrill to fly.
The frame of the Crazy2Fly uses G10 fiberglass composite which is incredibly rigid and lightweight and offers significant price advantages over carbon fibre. The hardware is entirely metal, using lightweight aluminium standoffs, steel screws and lock nuts.
Note: Optional UAV & Drone Sticker Kitssold as a separate accessory in the VTail category. Multiple colors available.
This was my first quadcopter build - I got the bare kit from coworkers as an anniversary gift. I am very pleased with how the kit went together, and the quad flies quite nicely! There are a couple of issues that keep this from being a five-star frame for me: 1) The screws want to come loose during flight. This is probably normal and can be solved with thread locker, but on this frame the interior screws can't be accessed without disassembling the frame. That = a pain. 2) This is particular to my setup: I'm using a CC3D flight controller board, but when it's mounted in the "X" configuration such that the arrow on the board is pointing toward the front, the hex standoff holding the top plate is right in front of the USB plug for the CC3D board. So I can't plug my flight controller into my computer without removing a standoff. That = a pain. Overall, I'm very pleased! I even designed some 3d-printable models for feet and propeller guards that fit on this frame. You can find them on Thingiverse here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:916824
