Description

  • Evil Mad Scientist The XL741 Discrete Op-Amp Kit
  • Faithful and functional transistor-scale replica
  • Includes the circuit board, resistors, transistors and capacitor
  • Comes with terminal posts and solder points
  • Basic electronic soldering skill and tools are required

The Evil Mad Scientist The XL741 Discrete Op-Amp Kit is a lovingly designed, oversized replica of the iconic μA741 op-amp (originally released in 1968). While modern op-amps may outperform the 741 in many specs, the 741 remains a widely used analog workhorse. This kit recreates the classic design at transistor scale and presents it as a display-worthy “overgrown IC” on a thick PCB, complete with an aluminum stand shaped like DIP pins.

Basic soldering experience and standard tools are required (soldering iron + solder, flush cutters, and a Phillips screwdriver). Assembly typically takes about an hour.
