The Dragino LWL04 LoRaWAN Water Leak Sensor (US915) is an advanced device designed to detect water leaks efficiently. It operates by identifying water presence between its three adjustable metal posts, triggering a short circuit alarm and sending an alert to an IoT server via the LoRaWAN network. This sensor is designed for easy placement on the ground without the need for permanent installation.
The device is equipped with a sealing ring, ensuring it meets IP65 waterproof standards, making it suitable for various environments. It is powered by a CR123A non-rechargeable battery, which supports long-term use, providing between 16,000 to 70,000 uplink packets, translating to a battery life of approximately 2 to 10 years. The battery is user-replaceable, ensuring continued operation without significant downtime.
The LWL04 sensor is capable of sending periodic data daily and during each water leak event. It also records the number of leak occurrences and calculates the duration of the last leak. Users have the option to disable immediate uplinks for each event, opting instead for periodic data transmission. Each unit comes pre-loaded with unique keys for seamless LoRaWAN registration and automatic connection upon activation.
