The DFRobot Waterproof Ultrasonic Distance Sensor (27~800Cm, ULA) is a high-performance device equipped with an enclosed waterproof probe. Utilizing the principle of ultrasonic echo ranging, it determines the distance to a target by measuring the time lapse between the emission of a pulse and the reception of its echo, all without physical contact. This sensor is versatile, capable of detecting transparent or non-ferrous objects, as well as metallic and non-metallic objects, liquids, solids, and powders. Its unique bell-mouth shell design significantly enhances the directivity and stability of the ultrasonic output.
The sensor offers two output modes: RS232 and voltage analog output, with RS232 being the default setting. This mode can be altered via a button on the device.
Note: The internal probe surface is the default starting point for detection. If the plane of the bell-mouth is used as the starting point, the detected distance will be reduced by 40mm.
