The DFRobot URM15 75KHZ Ultrasonic Sensor (30~500cm, RS485) is an advanced ultrasonic ranging sensor. It is equipped with an IP65 waterproof probe and has been tested to provide an effective measuring range between 30 and 500 cm on a flat wall. The sensor employs the RS485 interface, adhering to the standard Modbus-RTU protocol, ensuring reliable data communication. This feature, along with its support for revisable slave addresses and serial parameters, makes it highly suitable for various industrial controlling machines.
The URM15 is also designed with a temperature compensation function. This allows for the selection of either external or onboard temperature compensation, thereby minimizing the influence of ambient temperature on the measurement. The sensor incorporates a 75 KHz ultrasonic transducer with a diameter of 40 mm, which results in a relatively small measuring angle and high sensitivity.
The sensor is characterized by its IP65 grade protection and an RS485 communication interface that is based on the standard Modbus RTU protocol. It functions on a voltage range of 5-12 V DC and can handle a maximum instantaneous current of 350 mA. The sensor's distance resolution is 10 mm with a distance error of ±1%, while the temperature resolution is 0.1 ℃ with a temperature error of ±1℃. The measuring frequency stands at 10 Hz and it can operate in temperatures ranging from -10 to+70 ℃. The operating humidity range is less than 75% RH. The sensor's acoustic frequency is 75KHz±2% and the directional angle is 20±2°(-6 dB). Communication is facilitated via RS485 (Modbus-RTU).
