The DFRobot UPS HAT for LattePanda 3 Delta / 2 Alpha / 2 Delta Single Board Computer is an essential accessory designed to prevent disruptions caused by sudden power outages. This UPS HAT is compatible with the LattePanda 2 Alpha, Delta, and 3 Delta models, allowing for direct installation. It utilizes three 18650 lithium-ion batteries as storage, supporting power supply through both Type-C PD and 5.5mm DC interfaces. In the event of an external power interruption, the UPS HAT seamlessly switches to battery power, safeguarding the LattePanda from potential damage.

A notable feature of this UPS HAT is its support for the HID-UPS protocol, enabling it to be recognized as a battery device within the operating system. This allows users to employ system power management for power-saving modes and automatic shutdown functions, akin to an internal laptop battery. The protocol is implemented via Arduino, with open-source code available for customization, including the ability to refine battery power algorithms and set charging voltage limits to prolong battery life.

When operating on battery power, the UPS HAT directly powers the LattePanda without additional energy-consuming circuits, offering up to 8 hours of battery life. This duration has been tested with three 3.7V 3400mAh 18650 lithium-ion batteries paired with a LattePanda 3 Delta. Note: Due to transportation safety restrictions, the UPS HAT does not include 18650 lithium batteries, which must be purchased separately.
