The Deep Robotics Lite3 Lidar Quadruped Robot is a 12-degree-of-freedom legged platform that pairs the series' agile locomotion with a complete onboard perception stack: a wide-angle camera, dual ultrasonic radars, a depth camera, a LiDAR (laser radar) sensor, and an NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX AI computer. It navigates flat ground, climbs slopes up to 40 degrees, and climbs steps up to 15 cm (up to 18 cm in AI Motion Mode), using a Flat and RUG multi-gait control system that adapts to terrain in real time. Operable in 0–40 °C indoor and controlled outdoor settings, the LiDAR edition is built for autonomous-navigation, mapping, and perception research and development.

Beyond the forward/rear obstacle auto-stop and autonomous visual person-tracking shared across the line, the LiDAR edition adds forward obstacle avoidance and an Auto Mode for autonomous navigation — a LiDAR-exclusive capability run through DEEP Robotics' perception development resources (models, motion-control SDK and API, perception development example source code, and communication protocol). A full hardware-interface set, USB 3.0, HDMI, Ethernet, external power interface (24V/12V/5V), and a power port, lets developers integrate additional sensors and computing. Control is via the DEEP Robotics Android application (Android 6.0+) over the robot's built-in Wi-Fi router, with live video streaming, gait selection, English/Chinese voice commands, and an unlockable AI Motion Mode (AI Base gait with traction control). Note: using the onboard AI computer for secondary development increases power consumption, so runtime varies with actual use.

Model Features
Use Cases & Application Scenarios
Autonomous Navigation & Mapping
The LiDAR edition is built for SLAM, mapping, localization, and path-planning work, using its onboard LiDAR, depth camera, and Jetson AI computer to develop and test autonomous navigation in unmapped, GPS-denied, or complex environments.
Research & Education
A platform for university and lab research into perception, SLAM, and the full perception-to-navigation stack, as well as locomotion, gaits, and reinforcement learning — with open SDK/API access and onboard compute for running perception algorithms.
Inspection & Survey (Development)
A development base for prototyping and piloting autonomous inspection routines and 3D environment scanning in complex or unmapped spaces — suited to research and proof-of-concept work rather than production deployment.
Locomotion & Outdoor Terrain
With its Grip and H-Step gaits, the LiDAR edition handles slopes, grass, and uneven steps across indoor and controlled outdoor conditions (rated for 0–40 °C operation) — while its onboard LiDAR and depth camera let it map and perceive the terrain it moves through.
