The Deep Robotics Lite3 Basic Quadruped Robot is an intelligent quadruped robot built around a 12-degree-of-freedom legged platform designed for agile, versatile locomotion. It navigates flat ground, climbs slopes up to 40 degrees, and climbs steps up to 15 cm (up to 18 cm in AI Motion Mode) drawing on a multi-gait control system that adapts to terrain in real time. Its Flat gait offers three selectable speed levels (up to 2.5 m/s), while the RUG gait family provides dedicated modes for general terrain, steep slopes, and higher obstacles. Compact, portable, and operable in 0–40 °C indoor and controlled outdoor settings, the Lite3 Basic is positioned by DEEP Robotics as an entertainment, education, and research platform — the accessible entry point to its quadruped lineup.
Perception on the Lite3 Basic is handled by a forward-facing wide-angle camera paired with dual ultrasonic radars that provide forward/rear obstacle detection with automatic stop, and autonomous visual tracking of a selected person. The robot responds to voice commands in English and Chinese, executing movement and posture instructions without manual joystick input. Connectivity is managed through a built-in Wi-Fi router and the DEEP Robotics Android application (Android 6.0+), which provides live video streaming, gait selection, and an action library including Backflip, Carpet Backflip, Hello, Twist, Moonwalk, Long Jump, Twist Jump, and Turn Over. An unlockable AI Motion Mode adds AI-driven gaits (Base and Fast) with traction control plus advanced actions such as handstand and aerial leap, making the Lite3 Basic a flexible platform for educational programs, locomotion and reinforcement-learning research, and interactive demonstrations.
