Designed for Hummingbird Premium Kit (not included)
Enable coding with reusable components
Build projects using free programming tools
Complete each project over five class sessions
The BirdBrain Hummingbird Project Pack (Animatronics, Rover, Catapult) serves as an ideal introduction to the world of robotics and coding, offering a comprehensive learning experience through three distinct kits. These kits are designed to facilitate quick builds and provide student-friendly tutorials, making them suitable for both beginners and educators. The included curriculum allows teachers to prepare for teaching coding and robotics within a short time frame, fostering an environment where young innovators can unleash their creativity and develop new inventions.
The Project Pack includes reusable components to construct three unique projects, each to be tackled one at a time. The Catapult Pack enables users to design, code, and launch balls using a catapult, integrating servos and sensors to delve into mathematical and physical concepts. The Rover Pack allows for the construction and coding of a robotic car, utilizing motors, wheels, servos, and sensors for distance and line tracking. The Animatronic Pack offers the opportunity to create an interactive character or robotic head with a pan-tilt design, employing servos and sensors for light, sound, and distance detection.
Each project is designed to be completed over five class sessions, after which it can be disassembled to begin the next project, thereby enhancing skills and confidence progressively. The Hummingbird Bit Robotics projects are compatible with various free programming environments, including BirdBlox, MakeCode, Snap!, Python, and Java, accommodating a wide range of devices and operating systems.
Note: The Hummingbird Premium Kit is required and sold separately.
