The AndyMark EVO Slim for West Coast Drive 4.77:1 Ratio is a high-performance, lightweight gearbox designed for competition robots. It is part of the EVO Slim series, which shares many components with the EVO Shifter, including steel gears and aluminum plates. This gearbox is specifically engineered to be used in the AndyMark West Coast Drive Chassis and is shipped in kit form, allowing for customization based on the number of motors selected. It is compatible with either two NEO or CIM motors, although motors are not included with the gearbox.
The gearbox features a 15 Tooth 32DP pinion gear that does not require a key. For those using a NEO motor, a 3-ton arbor press is necessary to install the pinion due to its interference fit. The installation process has been tested to ensure a high factor of safety. For CIM motors, the pinion may either slip or require pressing, depending on manufacturing tolerances. In both cases, the application of red Loctite 271 is recommended to secure the pinion.
The EVO Slim for CIM also supports encoder options, including the E4T Optical Encoder Kit and the SRX Mag Encoder, which necessitate a 3D printed mount plate. Future versions will include appropriate holes in the motor plates to accommodate the Encoder Mount Pad. When using the SRX Mag Encoder, additional mounting hardware is required.
