The AndyMark EVO Shifter Short Hex Shaft, StageA 3 - 15.11:1 Ratio 2:1, StageB 3 - 09.54:1 Ratio 2:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in performance. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.

This model features several improvements over previous iterations, including a robust 1/8" diameter shoulder screw and a dog gear made from AMPCO® 18 Bronze, which provides added strength and lubricity. The shift block assembly is reinforced with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing, enhancing durability. The input stage employs 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction of 85:15. Users can independently select high and low ratios, and the gearbox supports additional encoder options, such as the US Digital E4T.

The EVO Shifter is designed with aggressive weight reduction features and allows for easy disassembly and reassembly without concern for gear orientation. It can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2"x1" box tube frame using existing mounting plate holes. The pneumatic shift method, powered by a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder, enables shifting while a robot is in motion, ensuring continuous operation even if air pressure is lost.

Note: Ensure proper installation of the pinion gear using a 3-ton arbor press for NEO motors, and apply red Loctite 271 for CIM motors to secure the pinion, allowing it to cure for 24 hours for optimal safety.
