The AndyMark EVO Shifter am14u Family Shaft, StageA 3 Stage - 21.72:1 Ratio 2:1, StageB 3 Stage - 45.33:1 Ratio 2:1 represents a significant advancement in shifting transmission gearboxes. This two-speed, shift-on-the-fly gearbox incorporates an enhanced 4-tooth dog shifting mechanism, allowing for seamless transitions between speeds. It is compatible with two CIM or NEO motors, and can be configured with either two or three interior stages, offering flexibility in output shaft selection. The gearbox is delivered assembled, though motors are not pre-installed.
The EVO Shifter introduces several improvements over previous models, including a more robust dog gear with increased material strength and a new shoulder screw design. The dog gear is crafted from AMPCO® 18 Bronze, providing enhanced lubricity for smoother shifting. Additionally, the shift block assembly has been fortified with a larger bearing and threaded steel housing. The input stage features 32 DP gears and a 15-tooth pinion gear, facilitating a high first stage reduction. Users can independently select high and low ratios, with the option to swap ratios as needed. The gearbox also supports various encoder options, including the US Digital E4T and the CTRE SRX mag encoder.
The gearbox is designed with aggressive weight reduction features and can be mounted to an AM14U family chassis or a 2"x1" box tube frame. It employs a pneumatic shift method, utilizing a spring-extend pneumatic cylinder for shifting, which can be executed while a robot is in motion. The gearbox requires proper greasing for optimal performance and longevity, with a recommended break-in period before applying grease. The encoder ratio for the two-stage version is 3:1 between the output shaft and encoder shaft.
Note: Ensure proper installation of pinion gears, especially when using a NEO motor, as a 3-ton arbor press is required for the interference fit. Follow the NEO Press Fit Pinion Guide for safety and optimal performance.
