My 96 year old dad absolutely loves this cat. However, he was holding it in a way that blocked its movement back which may have been not treating it carefully, and it stopped working after a few months. We ordered another because he really loves it, and I'll make sure that it is positioned in a way where its movement back is not blocked. (So depending on the person who it's for, it's not toddler-proof in its ability to stand blocking to its movements.)

I don't know if all dementia patients respond the same way, but my 96 year old dad with moderate dementia really loves this robotic cat - loves its purr its meow and its movements. He has always loved cats, but I don't want the work of a real cat, and he could also easily trip over a real cat. I am really pleased with this robotic cat. He does know it isn't real, but talks to it, smiles a whole lot and tells it what a nice kitty it is. I keep it for a special ten minutes a day to keep it fresh and a joy for him. I couldn't find people with visiting cats to bring to private homes, but this sure is filling the need of pet companionship for him.

My mom is 92 years old and lives in a long term care home. She has always had a cat with her while living at home. When I brought her this cat, she was so happy. She couldn't stop smiling and talks to her new kitty all the time. I highly recommend this cat companion.

Our 14 year old granddaughter asked for a cat, and we said no, so I went looking for a robot cat, and found this. It came well before the estimated delivery date, and we were able to give it to her for Christmas. She said it was the best present ever! We've all had fun with it, and love how it responds to the touch. It meows spontaneously, and rolls the front portion when unexpected, asking for its tummy to be rubbed. Great for calming her anxiety, and the fur feels quite realistic. We love that it doesn't have to be fed, doesn't smell, doesn't need a litter box, and doesn't have sharp claws. It's a perfect pet..... very low maintenance, yet it's there when you need it.
