The Joystick (2-Axis) Add-On module is a specifically designed board for robotics projects based on SMD products. This module is connected to the Add-On module socket of the SMD Red BDC Motor Driver. It can be used to control actuators, motors etc. via an optimized I2C communication protocol.
Due to the daisychain connection capabilities, you can mix and match different SMD modules as you want, thanks to the RJ-45 sockets with power rail inside (Power over RJ45), and CAT5/6 cables, you can place sensors anywhere in your application and access them from a central location (ie. your own controller, such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi or PC). The SMD add-on modules share a common physical size, hence multiple modules can be stacked up/down using the provided M3 mounting pads and input-out sockets. Each add-on module has its own microcontroller, enabling onboard pre-processing and buffering.
